Your insurer has an adjuster. So should you.

After a hurricane, a burst pipe or a fire, the insurance company sends someone to protect its interests. We are licensed public adjusters who work only for you, the policyholder, to document your loss and pursue every dollar your policy owes.

No upfront cost. We're paid only from your claim, under a written contract.

What we handle

Every kind of property claim

Homes, condos, rental properties and businesses. Whether you're filing a new claim, were paid too little, or were denied outright, we take over the paperwork, the inspections and the negotiating.

Daily claims

The everyday losses that turn into big claims

  • Plumbing & water damage
  • Roof leaks
  • Wind
  • Hail
  • Fire & smoke
  • Lightning
  • Theft
  • Vandalism & malicious mischief

Water and roof claims are among the most disputed in Florida. We document the cause and the full extent of damage before anything is torn out.

Catastrophe claims

Hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires

  • Hurricane wind
  • Tornado
  • Wildfire
  • Additional living expenses
  • Business interruption

When a storm hits, carriers are overwhelmed and claims get rushed. We move quickly, protect your deadlines and make sure the hurricane deductible is applied correctly.

Disputed claims

Underpaid, delayed or denied

  • Appraisal
  • DFS mediation
  • Reopened claims
  • Supplemental claims
  • Policy consultations

We know how carriers evaluate claims because we've seen it from the inside. If your settlement doesn't match your damage, we challenge it with evidence.

Who we represent

Residential and commercial property owners

  • Homeowners
  • Condo owners & associations
  • Landlords
  • Retail & restaurants
  • Offices & warehouses

Commercial losses bring inventory, equipment and lost income into the claim. We account for all of it so your business can reopen.

How it works

From first call to settlement

  1. Free claim review

Tell us what happened. We review your policy and your situation at no cost.

  2. Inspect & document

We photograph, measure and record every area of damage and its cause.

  3. Build the claim

We prepare a detailed estimate and inventory, and file it with your carrier.

  4. Negotiate

We meet the company adjuster, answer their requests and push back on low offers.

  5. Get paid

Once the claim settles, our fee comes out of the payment. Nothing before.

Fees, plainly

You pay nothing unless we recover

Our fee is a percentage of the claim payment we help you obtain, set out in a written contract you sign before we start. Florida law caps what any public adjuster can charge on a residential claim.

  • No upfront fees, retainers or inspection charges
  • No fee on money your insurer already paid before you hired us
  • You can still speak with your insurance company at any time
  • Every contract shows our name, license number and fee percentage
Maximum fee on a residential claim20%
Maximum fee for claims from a declared state of emergency, during the first year10%
Reopened or supplemental claims, charged only on the additional amount20%
Caps set by Florida Statute §626.854 for residential and condominium claims. Your exact percentage is stated in your contract.
Who we are

We used to work for the insurance companies

America's Public Insurance Adjusters is a Florida public adjusting firm led by Joseph Patrick Crotty. Our adjusters have handled residential and commercial property claims for years, including on the carrier side, so we know how claims are evaluated and where they get shortchanged.

We check every adjuster's work before it goes to your insurer. The goal is simple: a claim that is complete, well documented and hard to argue with, and a client who understands what is happening at every step.

Questions

Before you call

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

No. There are no upfront costs. Our fee is a percentage of the claim payment and is only due once your insurer pays.

My insurer already paid or denied my claim. Is it too late?

Often it isn't. Florida allows reopened and supplemental claims within set deadlines, and we can review a denial or a low payment to see whether it holds up. Because those deadlines are strict, call as soon as you can.

Can I still talk to my insurance company?

Yes. Hiring us doesn't cut you off from your insurer. We handle the communication and negotiation so you don't have to, but you're always free to speak with them.

Do you handle commercial and condo association claims?

Yes. We represent businesses, landlords and condominium associations as well as homeowners, including business interruption and contents losses.

What should I do right after the damage?

Make sure everyone is safe, take photos and video of everything, and make temporary repairs to prevent more damage, such as tarping a roof or shutting off the water. Keep your receipts, and hold off on throwing out damaged items until they're documented. Then call us.
